Somethings Fishy…

January 14th, 2008 Joe

Fish Pendants
Ahh yes it must be my new fish pendants :) These adorable lampwork fish beads, turned pendants are full of great character with their blue eyes and big red lips. Most of them are based of real reef fish but with my own whimsical style taking over. If you are a lover of the ocean these are a definite must. I haven’t ever worn one of these out in public but I would imagine you would get lots of looks and comments from people in viewing distance.

Best of all, as you know with all my work, these lampwork creations are all one of kind. So you are the only one that will ever have that exact piece. Kinda cool when you think about it eh?

See these and the rest of my pieces in my Etsy store.

New Series “Nebula”

January 11th, 2008 Joe

Nebula series
This new series comes from what people refer to as happy accidents :). I sat down with every intention of making more floral tabs, I just love how they look and I love flowers. I was busily working along and didn’t realize I was using a color I didn’t want in the bead. I thought, well crap now what. I don’t remember exactly what happened but all of a sudden this idea came rushing into my already crammed brain and I was instantly taken in a total different direction. As you can see these are not floral beads :)

The organic feel and gorgeous colors that came out of them couldn’t have made me happier! These are the kinds of beads that you can just stare at and lose yourself in. Something new seems to pop up every time I look at them.

Say I love you with art!

January 4th, 2008 Joe

heartbanner1.jpg
heartbanner2.jpgThis Valentines day tell that special someone in your life “I love you!” with handmade wearable art!

I say why waste money on bouquets of flowers that in the end are going to wilt and die only to be discarded. Or boxed chocolates that will only satisfy the receiver for a short amount of time. And lets not forget the amount of calories. So why not say “I love you!” this Valentine’s Day with one of my lampwork Art Hearts for something totally new and unique that will be sure to put a smile on anyones face. They will never wilt and die like flowers and they are also most definitely 100% calorie free :)

Add to your order a sterling silver snake chain that comes in 16″, 18″, or 24″ lengths, or an adjustable satin necklace from the necklace category of my Etsy store and you have a complete necklace ready to give to that special someone. Or you could always keep it for yourself, everyone needs a little love ;)

If hearts aren’t what you are looking for, I have a large selection of other ready to wear pieces for you to choose from. Whether its a beautiful hammered sterling and lampwork pendant, sterling fibula pin, a gorgeous gemstone and lampwork necklace, or a loose bead, there is something for everyone and for any occasion.

If something has already sold that you just have to have, don’t worry. Just drop me a quick email or Etsy convo with the item in question and I will get right to making another one just for you. Keep in mind though that all of my pieces are one of a kind. The new piece may be slightly different from the original one, but will be close.

Happy browsing!

New Items for sale!

December 21st, 2007 Joe

Lampwork Fibula PinThere are 3 new items currently being listed in my Etsy store. First up are these very functional lampwork and sterling silver fibula pins. They are beautiful, eye catching and as always, unique. They have many uses such as securing a scarf, wearing directly on a your shirt or sweater, on a hat, or anywhere else you want to put it. To see the rest of my lampwork fibula pins check out my Etsy store.

Lampwork pendantsSomething else that I’m really digging right now are these new lampwork and hammered sterling silver pendants. I only have a handful of these right now but I just got some more wire in so look for a bunch more coming soon! They look fantastic on the adjustable satin necklaces that I also sell. You can see all the other pendants like this one that I currently have in the pendant category of my Etsy store. I also have some of these made up without lampwork focal beads on them and they look just as good without the bead. I’ve worn a couple of these types of pendants while out running errands and have gotten lots of compliments on them.

Valentine's day lampwork heartsLast but not least… Valentine hearts! I know I know it’s not even Christmas yet and I’m already pumping out the hearts :) What happened was I set down to only make one, but before I knew it I had 20 of them sitting in the kiln. Now I can’t stop making them. I have an already nice collection up at Etsy with hordes more on the way. From the traditional reds and whites to the hearts that don’t have to be given just on Valentines day. Oh and I can’t leave out the fact that I also have some little devil hearts for those that may have a little devil in them. I can see these being a good conversational piece. All of the lampwork hearts will look good on either the sterling snake chains that I sell or the adjustable satin necklaces. To see all the beautiful hearts currently in stock Click Here.

Beautiful necklace, perfect name

October 14th, 2007 Joe

Sarah of The Beaded Lily on Etsy, using one of my focal beads has created this beautiful asymmetrical necklace. Paired with accentuating blue agate, rainbow moonstones, and Egyptian silver beads. Finished off with Egyptian silver spacers, seed beads, color-lined cubes, and hand formed sterling silver hook clasp.

She has aptly named this beautiful piece “Sky” which I think is very fitting. Be sure and check out this piece as well as the rest of the work in her Etsy store.
